Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor The ClearPlan Easy Fertility Monitor, a palm-sized electronic device, is one of the easiest ways to detect when you're fertile it provides daily updates on where you are in your cycle. Unlike most ovulation detectors that test only for luteinizing hormone (in urine), which surges just before ovulation, this monitor can also check estrogen levels, which normally rise a few days before ovulation. Start by setting the monitor on the first day of your menstrual cycle with a simple push of a button. Each morning afterward, push a button and a small screen tells you how fertile you are. When you're entering your fertile days, the screen tells you to start testing your urine. The monitor reads test sticks (sold separately), telling you high and peak fertility days. If you don't get pregnant the first month, which isn't unusual, simply keep using the monitor daily. It adapts to your personal cycle, even if it's irregular.
